Apple Empanadas

Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Butter softened
- 3 oz Cream Cheese softened
- 1 Cup Flour unbleached
- 1/3 Cup White Sugar
- 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon ground
- 1 Large Granny Smith Apple diced
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Butter chilled and diced
- 1.5 Teaspoon Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Water
Instructions
- Combine the diced apples with the brown sugar and flour.
- Using a mixer, combine the softened butter and cream cheese with the one cup of flour to form a dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
- After the dough is chilled roll it out to a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut circles using a cookie cutter or regular glass.
- Fill each piece of dough with one tablespoon of the apple mixture. Top with a few pieces of diced chilled butter. Dip your finger into small bowl of cold water and rub along the edge of the dough.
- Fold over the dough and press closed with your fingers.
- Using a fork, crimp the edges of the empanadas. Place on the prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Combine the 1/3 cup of white sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- When the empanadas are removed from the oven, roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture immediately.
There is nothing to say what temp to bake. And what is the water for??? These things were left out . Please let me know .
Where did you use the 1 tbsp of water? I missed that.
