These are just some things I am commonly asked. Got a question of your own? Just send us a message.

What do vegetarians eat?
Anything that wasn’t a living animal at some point. Some people say that vegetarians don’t eat anything with a face but I don’t really think that snails have “faces”.  According to the internet, vegetarianism is the practice of abstaining from the consumption of meat (red meat, poultry, seafood, and the flesh of any other animal). There are lots of different varieties of vegetarians such as pescatarian or vegans. It’s best to ask a vegetarian about their dietary preferences if you are entertaining one.

I’m having a dinner party and I know there are a couple vegetarians who will be coming. What do I make that everyone will like?
First of all, I would cook what I want. I think most menus at parties include meat and non-meat items.  Someone who is a vegetarian can usually find something offered that fits their diet. Another way to ensure they get something that they would like to eat is to ask them to bring a dish to share!

I am allergic to eggs. What can I use as an egg substitute?
An entire article about egg substitutions is coming soon.

How can you stand to eat these fake meats when you know that real meat tastes delicious?
I get asked this question… A LOT. And the real answer is that if someone put two plates in front of me, one with a real all beef burger and one with a meat substitute burger, I would always choose the real beef burger. When you spend your life with someone who doesn’t eat any meat whatsoever, it is just easier to find a way to make that non-meat recipes taste amazing and I think I am good at that. My grilled fake steak tacos may not be real beef but man, they are so, so good.

What are your favorite things to make?
Anything baked! I love baking. It is probably one of the hardest things to make for someone who doesn’t eat eggs but I like a challenge.
