If there is one thing that I love in the summertime, it’s grilled meats! And of all the possible meats to choose from, steak has to be my favorite. So, this steak taco recipe was at the top of my must have list when attempting to create new meatless meals to eat with Carrot. I have to say that Gardein brand products are some of my favorite meat substitutes. When cooked properly, it has a better texture than most other meatless options to my meat loving palate. And since you will be marinating this fake meat preferably overnight, the resealable bag is perfect!

It was totally simple to translate my favorite grilled steak taco recipe into this non-meat version. So, if you have only meat eaters in your house, this recipe works with real steak too. If you are substituting real meat, you will replace the Gardein Beef Tips with 1 1/2 pounds of skirt steak and follow the recipe exactly as written. When I make this at home, I usually make the real meat version for the teen and it is one of his favorite recipe. I usually hear, “Can you buy more meat for the next time?” Oh, growing boys and their growing stomaches.

We love to top our tacos with fresh cilantro, cheese, tomatoes, and sour cream but the best part of tacos is that they are totally customizable.
